There’s something extraordinary that happens during a Reiki session—something subtle, yet unmistakable.

Your hands may be gently resting on the body or even hovering just above. But what you feel isn’t just surface-level warmth or sensation.

It’s deeper.

There’s a sense—impossible to fully describe yet impossible to ignore—that your energy is reaching beneath the skin.

Through tissue, through fascia, through the layers we carry emotionally, energetically, even spiritually.

And just when you think, “Am I imagining this?”—Lisa Guyman’s perfectly coined phrase comes floating in:   “Hello, Edward Reikihands.”    A playful term for something profoundly real:   The sensation that Reiki extends outward beyond the fingertips 

As practitioners, we don’t “push” energy. We don’t direct it with force.  But we do listen. We do attune. And when we do, the energy knows where to go. You feel your palms responding in ways we haven’t consciously identified. You notice your breath deepening. The room stills.  And beneath your hands, the body softens in response.

This is the reality of Reiki (which means Universal Life Force Energy in Japanese.)   Reiki meets us where we are—not just physically, but emotionally, energetically, and even below the surface of conscious awareness.

Edward Reikihands is more than a smile-worthy phrase.   It’s a reminder that healing is not always linear. That our presence has reach. That when we offer energy with pure intention, it flows through us—and into the spaces that most need to be seen, held, honored, and loved.

So, the next time you feel that electric presence dancing past your fingertips, give a little smile.   Maybe even whisper internally, “Hello, Edward.”

And keep trusting that your energy—and your loving intention—has a reach far beyond what the eye can see.
