One of the most impactful tools I’ve learned (and continue to practice) comes from the teachings of Abraham Hicks:
Segment Intending.
It’s simple — but powerful.
One Segment At a Time
The idea is this: before stepping into any new segment of your day (a meeting, a client call, sitting down to write, even driving to the grocery store), you pause and consciously ask:
What do I intend for this next segment?
How do I want to feel?
What energy do I want to bring?
What outcome feels aligned?
This is about aligning your energy before you act — so you're responding, not reacting. Creating, not chasing.
In my personal life, segment intending helps me stay grounded and present — even when the to-do list is long or the world feels loud.
In business, especially as a speaker, coach, or influencer, it’s been a game changer. Before I step on stage, get on a Zoom call, or draft an email campaign, I take a breath and set the tone:

“I intend to offer clarity and kindness.”

“I intend for my words to resonate with those who are ready to hear them.”

“I intend to listen fully and show up in service.”
It seems so small. But this practice shifts how I show up — and as a result, shifts the results themselves.
