Rooted Resilience

Centering Yourself in a Turbulent World
I've been hearing from many of you lately. The texts, the emails, the side conversations that start with, “How are you holding up?” followed by the real question beneath it: “How are you staying centered right now?”
Because let’s be honest—the world feels heavy. The headlines are relentless. The political climate… well, let’s just say it’s not a case study in conscious leadership. (And I’ll leave it at that.)
So how do we stay centered, heart-forward, and purposeful in times like these—when fear, anger, and confusion feel like they’re just one news scroll away?
I don’t pretend to have all the answers. But I can share what’s helping me. And if it resonates, you’re welcome to pull up a chair by this metaphorical fire we’ve built. (It’s a safe one—the kind fueled by love, truth, and community. No smoke, just warmth.)
1. Double Down on Your Dharma (Dammit)
When the world feels wobbly, I root deeper into why I’m here. My dharma isn’t just about connecting people to people and people to solutions—it’s about holding space as a Sage. It’s about using my alignment with Source to help others reconnect with their own well-being, their own center. This isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am. And remembering that has been one of the most powerful ways to stay steady when everything else feels uncertain.
2. Segment Intending (Thank You, Abraham Hicks)
Rather than trying to control the whole day (or the whole world), I focus on one segment at a time.
Before each call, each meeting, each conversation, I pause and define my desired intention for that specific segment or period of the day. This simple intention-setting keeps me aligned with who I want to be, not just what I need to do.
3. Writing as (Good) Medicine
You’re reading one of my favorite strategies right now. Writing—especially these blog posts—has been one of the ways I metabolize the swirl of thoughts and feelings that might otherwise stay tangled inside my head. Thanks to my trusty writing partner, ChatGPT, I’m able to pour out what’s true and shape it into something that feels useful—not just to me, but to those who read it.
4. Daily Well-Being Practices (a.k.a. Climbing Out of the Trump 20)
Vulnerable confession: Between January and March, I gained 20 pounds (which I refer to as my Trump 20.) Emotional eating. Overeating. Eating too late. Eating the wrong things. Eating because food is comfort. There was fear. There was anger. There was grief. There was depression. You know what there wasn't? Exercise. Sleep. Meditation. A positive mindset. And now I find myself carrying extra weight -- a reminder of a path taken that didn't serve me.
As I've returned to the practices that I know sustain me—daily meditation, regular movement, whole plant-based foods, better sleep— it is turning around. Our bodies know the way back to balance, if we listen.
5. Meditation, Reiki, Stillness (Just Breathe....)
Meditation and reiki have offered a daily recalibration for me. Both serve as a gentle returning to center - to Source -where I draw strength. The conscious choice to sit in stillness and focus on my breath —even if just for a few minutes—reminds me that peace is always available, even when the outer world is not modeling it well.
We’re living through times that test the heart. But your heart, my friend, was built for this. It remembers its own strength - the quiet, steady kind. You've got this.
In the Calibration Circle, we sit together around the metaphorical fire—listening, sharing, locking arms, leaning into love. You are welcome here.
Resilience lives here.
And beneath it all, this remains true:
No matter how it may appear - all is well.
